Hard Work and Persistence

What do you spend most of your time doing? What are you doing with your life currently? Do you talk about doing things but never do them? What's holding you back? How long are you going to keep talking about the things you want to do? When are you going to start doing and stop talking?

Proverbs 14: 23 says, "Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!" (NLT).

Are you Willing to work Hard? What motivates you to keep going; to work hard and work well? Ecclesiastes 9: 10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your strength. For there is no work or planning or learning or wisdom in the place of the dead where you are going." (NLV). This passage reveals that in what you do, whether that is being a full-time mother, your job, or your responsibilities, do it with enthusiasm. It means, do it with the enthusiasm that you enjoy what you do! Most people who work complain, moan, grumble, stress and rant about what they do. This is because they are not seeing the enthusiasm in what they do. They do not focus on why they do what they do, they are more focused on if it's fun, interesting and pays well. Also, this passage announces that your career is not coming along to Heaven, your character is. So be enthusiastic about your work. In what you do, Do It In God!

Image result for proverbs 12 24Hard work leads to success, but success will not come if you do not change your attitude about the work you do here on earth! The Bible proclaims, "Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically." (Romans 12: 11) (NLT). Some people may ask 'But why'. Well, because God is watching you, He is El Roi, The God who sees. He sees and He is watching all that you do in life. So serve the Lord enthusiastically. How? By being enthusiastic about your work. When you serve others, you are in a way serving God. You may have a boring job, with boring responsibilities, but do not forget that God is watching you and seeing your approach and attitude in your work. Earlier I briefly spoke about complaining about your work; the Bible confirms that "The hand of those who do their best will rule, but the lazy hand will be made to work." (Proverbs 12: 24) (NLV). This passage succinctly discusses that what you do is greatly determined by your attitude. For example, if you have a negative attitude towards your job, you're surely going to complain and despise your job. However, a positive attitude is contrary to that. This means you absolutely know why you do what you do, and do it Enthusiastically.

The more significant your goal, the longer it may take to achieve. This is where persistence plays a key role. You hear the saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day'. It truly wasn't and neither will your goals. It takes time, patience, persistence, along with hard work. Those who succeed are those who are willing to do what they don't feel like doing. They do not let their moods/feelings/emotions control them or prevent them from achieving what the have set out to achieve. These people allow God's Will to take place. They have established their goals and plans in accordance to God's Will for their life! Any if not all goals that are worth achieving will face obstacles, and that's perfectly okay. People who you see succeeding nowadays have faced their obstacles and troubles, they've been there, but they have triumphed because God's timing is perfect, it's Everything! Be persistent. Be patient. Work hard. Habakkuk 2: 3 says, "But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (LB). Meditate on the Word of the Lord and see your life, your goals and your desires fall into place.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, I pray for your help. Lord, I pray for the blessing of my work, the things I do here on earth. I pray for your help Lord, to work enthusiastically, because I know that it is not my career that I shall take to heaven but my character Lord. Lord, the work I am doing now is what you have blessed me with. Help me to have a changed attitude towards my work. In Jesus' name. Amen!

Try it again... Try it With ME!

So many of us have attempted to do so many things ourselves but we have failed. The reason you failed when you attempted that thing is that you attempted it on your own. You didn't Consult or Discuss it with God first. You went along and did it by yourself, thinking that you could do it and achieve it by yourself, but you couldn't and Failed! This is where you successfully played yourself. Think of it like this. Making decisions without God in the centre or consulting Him for His help Support and Guidance are almost like speeding in a car without a seatbelt, at 170mph. Yes, you will get an exhilarating feeling, but you will eventually crash and realise that it was both silly and stupid to think that being in a speeding car without a seatbelt was safe, sensible, and the right thing to do. God wants you to take the back seat ! Let Him reveal to you His Amazing plans for your life. God is Greater than our plans. He is Greater than the decisions we make. He is Greater and G...

Giving! How Do You Give? Is it in your heart to give willingly?

When giving to others; whether it is your money, time or things which have sentimental value to you, how do you give this to others?  How do you feel towards giving and how do you feel when you give willingly? Remember this: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:  ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  ” (Acts 20:35) (NIV). Is it in your heart to give willingly? God Gives! So we must be Givers . Psalms 32:21 says "... the righteous give generously". (NIV). When we give, our giving must stem from God's unfailing Love. The most well-known passage reads, For God so loved  the world that he gave  his one and only Son..." (John 3: 16) (NIV). God sent to earth his 'One and Only Son'! This passage holds such an importance about how God Gave! God is generous and He wants us to learn to be generous and Give, to be more like Him. Giving requires having F...

Bad Company Corrupts Good Character!

Yes, there is a need to avoid Bad Company. 1 Corinthians 15: 33 says this " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.” (NIV). Do your friends corrupt your morals? Do you allow your friends to corrupt your morals?  It is important to choose wisely who you allow to influence you. We are humans and are easily corrupted by the company we keep. We need to prevent others bad influences from causing us to become a bad influence on ourselves and others.  Friends can either help us or harm us. Only You can choose the company you keep! God made the statement in His Word, the Bible, which proclaims " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.”  (NIV). This statement reminds us that we are a building board for Jesus and we must not Waiver and stumble off the path that God has set for us. Bad company can have a great influence on our walk with God. It can trick us into thinking that we can keep the wrong type of company and continue o...
