Overwhelmed... God's Got You!!

Joshua 1: 5 "No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you". (NIV)

Image result for scriptures on feeling overwhelmedWe've all had those days where it feels like it's just one thing after another, after another, until it becomes an overwhelming and frustrating cycle, that doesn't seem to end. It may feel like everything is against you. Picture this, you've just finished work/school/college, you get caught up in heavy wind and rain, you have no umbrella, plastic bag, newspaper or hoodie, and you have to walk a long distance to your home because the bus has broken down. You may have been splashed multiple times by passing cars/lorries/buses etc... And before you reach your home you realise that you have left your keys inside your house. There is nobody home, neither are your neighbours. Whilst you were on your way home your phone battery dies, so you have no means of contacting anyone or seeking shelter anywhere. You feel stranded, soaked, stuck, cold and hopeless. My point here is that no matter what happened to you that day the current situation was worse than the previous.

Have you ever had days like this? What is the first thing you do when you face such overwhelming problems? Do you go to visit a friend, comfort eat, seek advice from family or attempt to deal with the problems alone? OR Do you turn to God?

Think back to how God has delivered you in the past, He has done it before; so of course, He will do it Again. God uses the problems, situations, and trials you face to build you, strengthen you and give you the power to say 'I will not be overwhelmed nor overcome by this'. Only God answers prayers. Only God can open doors for you when you don't know where you are heading. Only God can help you when you need help, comfort you when you need comfort, motivate you when you need motivation and give you encouragement when you need it most! Matthew 11:28-30, in which Jesus says this, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light". TRUST JESUS. ✦The Way The Truth and the Light

Whatever the problem, God is already working it out for you! The battle is not yours, God wants you to come to Him with your troubles, your battles. Trust Him to handle your pains and your problems.

Deitrick Haddon - Stand Still

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us when we take it upon ourselves to take life on alone and not trust the plans you have for us. Lord, we pray for you to Lead the way. Re-direct our steps and open our minds to the realisation that we cannot live this life without an ounce of You in it!! God, guide us when we begin to stray. Give us the strength to carry on, and also strengthen our faith and relationship with You Lord; to continue seeking your face and Praising your name! In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

Having a Better relationship with God

Perseverance of Faith

What do you do when your faith is Tested? Do you give up when you face struggles? Do you turn away from God? Do you blame God? OR Do you pick yourself up and turn to God and allow Him to use what you're going through to strengthen you and enhance your faith? God doesn't put things in your life to break you or make you weak, he put things into your life to strengthen you, enhance your faith, and test your faithfulness. The Bible declares , 15   “ All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. 16  That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” (2 Corinthians 4:15-17) (NLT).
