What's going to last? 1 John 2:17...

"Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever". (1 John 2: 15-17 NLT).

There is a lot to be said on the topic of the world and its desires, such as materialism, looking/feeling good, being pressured into things, accepting things which are wrong, being lead astray from good. These are merely a few things which do not, not even in the slightest, last forever! This is why it is significant to ask yourself every now and again, 'what in my life is temporary and what will last forever?' It is a necessity in this world to evaluate your values because without a fixed mindset, it is easy to be swayed.

Image result for 1 john 2 15-17Ask yourself when making decisions, do you do what you want and enjoy the benefit it brings now or do you wait, do what God says and enjoy the benefits (the blessings He blesses you with) later? The Bible says, "...For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever". (2 Corinthians 4: 18 NLT).

Think about these things:
•What is going to last forever?
•What will last for your lifetime?
•What is going to last days, months, a few short years?
•What is most important in your life?

【Also, think about what is going to last for Eternity

It is essential (as children of God) to organise your life around things that'll last for eternity. Things such as the new in season clothes/shoes/bags/jewellery are temporary possessions. Re-direct your focus to
what is eternal. When you do this, you will begin to understand and begin to live according to God's purpose for your life. Luke 9:62 says, But Jesus told him, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” (TLB)
The things which we gain here on earth, we already know that we cannot take these things into heaven, but the Bible says that we can send it ahead. Explicitly, the Bible says "Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home". (NLT). This passage interprets that you should use what God has given you to bring others to Christ, and those people you bring to Christ will become your friends for life, and for eternity. They will welcome you when you get to heaven! 1 Timothy 6:19 says this, "By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven; it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well". (TLB)

Prayer:
Dear Lord helps us to realise the things which are not of you Lord. Help us to recognise the things which may be distracting us from You and Your word Jesus. Lord, we pray that you help us to do what pleases You, and only You God. Lord, we don't want to please the world, we don't want to crave the same things people of this world crave. Helps us to walk away from worldly things Jesus!! Lord God, fill us, fill our lives, our minds and our thoughts Lord till all they perceive is You, Lord!! Lord, we live to glorify Your Name! In Jesus' Name. Amen!

The Season of Loss

How do you handle Loss? The Bible says, 8 " O my people, trust in him at all times.    Pour out your heart to him,  for God is our refuge". (Psalm 62: 8) (NLT).  As we face inevitable losses in life, we need to remember that we have the ability to pick up and put ourselves back together, and begin to get on with our lives once again. When we experience loss we may get these feelings: fear, depression, worry, guilt and anger. If these emotions are ignored, it may take longer to recover and move on from your grief. This is why it is healthy and okay to experience all these emotions, some people experience these emotions at once, others may be staggered. Everyone goes through them, in relation to Loss, no matter what they may say. People who deal with grief and pretend that everything is okay and that life can be lived as normal, will ultimately struggle with the stress of many emotions. This struggle can last for months or years and y ears to come. Jesus said, 4 "...

Conflict... Resolving conflict

How do you resolve conflict in your life? 15 " A gentle answer  turns away wrath,  but a harsh word stirs up anger."  (Proverbs 15:1) (NIV). Why is it that when someone gets angry we also get angry, when people raise or shout at us, we usually shout or raise our voice back at them. By mirroring their actions, you are allowing the situation to escalate ad get out of hand, soon it becomes too late. " When other people raise their voice, lower yours — in your marriage, in your parenting, in your friendships, and at work. That’s called strength under control." (Pastor Rick Warren). When you oppose to what someone has says, take a step back and reevaluate the situation for a brief moment, come back, and handle the situation in the best way. This could be done by simply walking away. This deescalates the anger. The Bible declares that, 4 " If your boss is angry at you, don’t quit!  A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes." ( Ecclesiastes 10:4) (NL...

God's Love!

God's love is Deep, High, Wide and Long! It holds such greatness that it cannot be fully understood! Ephesians 3: 18-19 says, 18   " And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.   19  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God". (NLT) Think about the way you love others. Do you love some and not love others? Is your love selective? Is it wide? Does it stretch out to those you do not know? Do you love those who have done you wrong? Read  Matthew 5: 44   God's love is one that extends, stretches and spreads across the whole world. It includes everyone and everything that He created. God created the world; He made us in His own image (Genesis 1: 27) and He loves us. God's  love for you is unconditional! Whether you like it or not, or want to...
