What's going to last? 1 John 2:17...

"Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever". (1 John 2: 15-17 NLT).

There is a lot to be said on the topic of the world and its desires, such as materialism, looking/feeling good, being pressured into things, accepting things which are wrong, being lead astray from good. These are merely a few things which do not, not even in the slightest, last forever! This is why it is significant to ask yourself every now and again, 'what in my life is temporary and what will last forever?' It is a necessity in this world to evaluate your values because without a fixed mindset, it is easy to be swayed.

Image result for 1 john 2 15-17Ask yourself when making decisions, do you do what you want and enjoy the benefit it brings now or do you wait, do what God says and enjoy the benefits (the blessings He blesses you with) later? The Bible says, "...For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever". (2 Corinthians 4: 18 NLT).

Think about these things:
•What is going to last forever?
•What will last for your lifetime?
•What is going to last days, months, a few short years?
•What is most important in your life?

【Also, think about what is going to last for Eternity

It is essential (as children of God) to organise your life around things that'll last for eternity. Things such as the new in season clothes/shoes/bags/jewellery are temporary possessions. Re-direct your focus to
what is eternal. When you do this, you will begin to understand and begin to live according to God's purpose for your life. Luke 9:62 says, But Jesus told him, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” (TLB)
The things which we gain here on earth, we already know that we cannot take these things into heaven, but the Bible says that we can send it ahead. Explicitly, the Bible says "Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home". (NLT). This passage interprets that you should use what God has given you to bring others to Christ, and those people you bring to Christ will become your friends for life, and for eternity. They will welcome you when you get to heaven! 1 Timothy 6:19 says this, "By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven; it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well". (TLB)

Prayer:
Dear Lord helps us to realise the things which are not of you Lord. Help us to recognise the things which may be distracting us from You and Your word Jesus. Lord, we pray that you help us to do what pleases You, and only You God. Lord, we don't want to please the world, we don't want to crave the same things people of this world crave. Helps us to walk away from worldly things Jesus!! Lord God, fill us, fill our lives, our minds and our thoughts Lord till all they perceive is You, Lord!! Lord, we live to glorify Your Name! In Jesus' Name. Amen!

Having a Better relationship with God

"They were to look for God... and find Him because He is not far from each one of us. It is in Him that we live and move and keep on living". Acts 17:27 (NLV). You know that you want a better relationship with God, you just don't know how. God is always available to you if you "..seek Him with all your heart" (Deuteronomy 4:29). You personally need to make time to read God's Word every day ! It might not be easy but it is worth it! Between the busyness of life e.g work, school activities, church, volunteering etc.. You need to make the time to be in His Word. Just You and Him. It clearly declares in the Bible "Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty, is divided between God and the world". James 4:8 (NLT). God wants us to know him! That's a fact! Here are some tips on how you can have a Better relationship with God: 1. Schedule God's Word- Write a s...

Try it again... Try it With ME!

So many of us have attempted to do so many things ourselves but we have failed. The reason you failed when you attempted that thing is that you attempted it on your own. You didn't Consult or Discuss it with God first. You went along and did it by yourself, thinking that you could do it and achieve it by yourself, but you couldn't and Failed! This is where you successfully played yourself. Think of it like this. Making decisions without God in the centre or consulting Him for His help Support and Guidance are almost like speeding in a car without a seatbelt, at 170mph. Yes, you will get an exhilarating feeling, but you will eventually crash and realise that it was both silly and stupid to think that being in a speeding car without a seatbelt was safe, sensible, and the right thing to do. God wants you to take the back seat ! Let Him reveal to you His Amazing plans for your life. God is Greater than our plans. He is Greater than the decisions we make. He is Greater and G...

Overwhelmed... God's Got You!!

Joshua 1: 5 " No one will be able to stand against you  all the days of your life . As I was with  Moses , so I will be with you ; I will never leave you nor forsake  you ". (NIV) We've all had those days where it feels like it's just one thing after another, after another, until it becomes an  overwhelming and  frustrating cycle, that doesn't seem to end. It may feel like everything is against you. Picture this, you've just finished work/school/college, you get caught up in heavy wind and rain, you have no umbrella, plastic bag, newspaper or hoodie, and you have to walk a long distance to your home because the bus has broken down. You may have been splashed multiple times by  passing  cars/lorries/buses etc... And before you reach your home you realise that you have left your keys inside your house. There is nobody home, neither are your neighbours. Whilst you were on your way home your phone battery dies, so you have no means of contacting an...
