Finances

Do you trust God when it comes to your finances? Who is your first port of call when faced with financial struggles?

Philippians 4: 19 says "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (NIV).

This passage in the Bible has such significant meaning! This passage says that "God will meet all your needs"; it doesn't say that He will meet parts of your needs or some of your needs or that He might meet your needs. It says "He will meet all your needs", every single need in life. God himself is declaring that "I will meet your needs". This includes issues within your home, friendships, car insurance payments, and the next mortgage payment. Another thing, this passage doesn't say that God will meet all your greeds and wants, there is a clear difference between what you want and what you need. God will not give the things you want, but the things He knows you need. This includes, good health, well-being, a roof over your head, and food and water for you and your family. This passage also says that "God will meet all your needs according to the riches". This means that your needs are not based on how much you have or what you have, but it is based on what God has, and of course God does not run of resources!! Ultimately, this passages reads "of his glory in Christ Jesus." God has promised that he will meet the needs of his believers; those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour! God guarantees us and our finances through what He decrees in Philippians 4: 19.

Who do you look to for financial security?

Trust in God, trust God with your finances, He is the source to all your finances, He supplies all your needs. The income that God allows you to receive is from your job , which he allows you to have, this may be your dream job, a part-time job, and may be your main source of income. You may trust and have security in the figures that your bank account says or what you have in your savings, but this can be taken away if you do not put your trust in God or have security (faith) in Him to supply all you need. He is the only source to your finances, so you do not need to worry about where your income will come from. If you lose your job, remember that God has a plan for you and your life, God's plan! Will you seek it? He can just as easily take that job away as quickly as you may have got it, but this is because He has something even bigger and better for you, so do not lose faith, do not get angry with God. He knows what he is doing. Remember, He will supply All your needs!
He is your source, the only Source!

Put God first in all areas of your life, whatever you want him to bless in your life, put him first! For example, if you want God to bless your life, put him first. If you want him to bless your family, put him first. If you want him to bless your business, put him first! In everything, put Him first. The Bible says, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well". (Matthew 6: 33) (NIV).  In whatever you need, don't forget to ask God. The Bible says, "Ask and it will be given you.  Search, and you will find.  Knock, and the door will open for you". (Matthew 7:7) (NIV). If you want something, pray on that thing, whatever it may be. If God allows it, it will be in your life. Pray more, worry less. Pray as much for your finances as much as you may worry about them. Any financial struggle you may have, believe and have faith in God that he with meet all your needs!

Prayer:
Dear God, help me to put total and utter trust in you. Help me to remember that whatever financial struggle I face Lord, that you are my true Source and that you will never leave me Lord. Help me to worry less about my financial situations and have security in you. In Jesus' name. Amen!

The Season of Loss

How do you handle Loss? The Bible says, 8 " O my people, trust in him at all times.    Pour out your heart to him,  for God is our refuge". (Psalm 62: 8) (NLT).  As we face inevitable losses in life, we need to remember that we have the ability to pick up and put ourselves back together, and begin to get on with our lives once again. When we experience loss we may get these feelings: fear, depression, worry, guilt and anger. If these emotions are ignored, it may take longer to recover and move on from your grief. This is why it is healthy and okay to experience all these emotions, some people experience these emotions at once, others may be staggered. Everyone goes through them, in relation to Loss, no matter what they may say. People who deal with grief and pretend that everything is okay and that life can be lived as normal, will ultimately struggle with the stress of many emotions. This struggle can last for months or years and y ears to come. Jesus said, 4 "...

Conflict... Resolving conflict

How do you resolve conflict in your life? 15 " A gentle answer  turns away wrath,  but a harsh word stirs up anger."  (Proverbs 15:1) (NIV). Why is it that when someone gets angry we also get angry, when people raise or shout at us, we usually shout or raise our voice back at them. By mirroring their actions, you are allowing the situation to escalate ad get out of hand, soon it becomes too late. " When other people raise their voice, lower yours — in your marriage, in your parenting, in your friendships, and at work. That’s called strength under control." (Pastor Rick Warren). When you oppose to what someone has says, take a step back and reevaluate the situation for a brief moment, come back, and handle the situation in the best way. This could be done by simply walking away. This deescalates the anger. The Bible declares that, 4 " If your boss is angry at you, don’t quit!  A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes." ( Ecclesiastes 10:4) (NL...

Bad Company Corrupts Good Character!

Yes, there is a need to avoid Bad Company. 1 Corinthians 15: 33 says this " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.” (NIV). Do your friends corrupt your morals? Do you allow your friends to corrupt your morals?  It is important to choose wisely who you allow to influence you. We are humans and are easily corrupted by the company we keep. We need to prevent others bad influences from causing us to become a bad influence on ourselves and others.  Friends can either help us or harm us. Only You can choose the company you keep! God made the statement in His Word, the Bible, which proclaims " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.”  (NIV). This statement reminds us that we are a building board for Jesus and we must not Waiver and stumble off the path that God has set for us. Bad company can have a great influence on our walk with God. It can trick us into thinking that we can keep the wrong type of company and continue o...
