Joy

Where is Joy found? Where do you find your Joy!

11 "In Your presence is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16: 11) (NIV).

Where is Joy found? Do you find yourself seeking joy in a friend, a book, a hobby, or even in your job? I assure you now that type of Joy doesn't last very long

Joy may be easy to find but quick to lose. Joy can be lost so quickly and there are so many ways to lose it.For example, you have joy but then you lose it after receiving terrible news or if you lose your phone, car keys or wallet. In life, you go through so many emotions, so many situations, so many ups and so many downs, but do you focus on the bad and how they cause you to feel or the Good.

You have the choice to choose, are you going to focus on the Good or the bad?

A Christian life is goodness, peace and JOY. This is what the bible tells us.

"...The Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit..." (Romans 14: 17) (NIV).

God's word is a place where you can find Joy; opening your eyes and ears and mind to the things you probably didn't think could bring such joy, laughter, and positivity to your life. The bible, God's word, is true, wonderful and bears an indescribable value. To be indulged in God's word is so exhilarating; giving you this feeling of awe (best possible I can describe it personally).

If you truly want to have joy or be joyful you must stop focusing on yourself. Focus less on "If I do this I will be happy" or " when this takes place then I will have joy". That type of joy you seek is temporary joy and like I said earlier, does not last very long.

You are as joyful as you Choose to be, because, once again, joy is a choice!

I guess what I am trying to get across is that in life you must learn to be content!

Learn to be content just like Paul was. He was joyful because he was a selfless man and was unselfish. Paul said "...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." (Philippians 4: 11) (NIV). Paul learnt to be content whatever the situations, in whatever life brought him, through Christ Jesus.

Why?

Well, because Christ gave him strength (Philippians 4:13).

Remember that you can always be joyful no matter your situation!

Prayer:
Dear Lord, fill our hearts with Joy, to not focus on our circumstances or situations, but on your goodness and mercy. God, please help us to be joyful from the truths we discover in your word. Lord, give us the strength to withstand the things that we cannot control, that we cannot take on ourselves. We need you, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen!!

The Season of Loss

How do you handle Loss? The Bible says, 8 " O my people, trust in him at all times.    Pour out your heart to him,  for God is our refuge". (Psalm 62: 8) (NLT).  As we face inevitable losses in life, we need to remember that we have the ability to pick up and put ourselves back together, and begin to get on with our lives once again. When we experience loss we may get these feelings: fear, depression, worry, guilt and anger. If these emotions are ignored, it may take longer to recover and move on from your grief. This is why it is healthy and okay to experience all these emotions, some people experience these emotions at once, others may be staggered. Everyone goes through them, in relation to Loss, no matter what they may say. People who deal with grief and pretend that everything is okay and that life can be lived as normal, will ultimately struggle with the stress of many emotions. This struggle can last for months or years and y ears to come. Jesus said, 4 "...

Conflict... Resolving conflict

How do you resolve conflict in your life? 15 " A gentle answer  turns away wrath,  but a harsh word stirs up anger."  (Proverbs 15:1) (NIV). Why is it that when someone gets angry we also get angry, when people raise or shout at us, we usually shout or raise our voice back at them. By mirroring their actions, you are allowing the situation to escalate ad get out of hand, soon it becomes too late. " When other people raise their voice, lower yours — in your marriage, in your parenting, in your friendships, and at work. That’s called strength under control." (Pastor Rick Warren). When you oppose to what someone has says, take a step back and reevaluate the situation for a brief moment, come back, and handle the situation in the best way. This could be done by simply walking away. This deescalates the anger. The Bible declares that, 4 " If your boss is angry at you, don’t quit!  A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes." ( Ecclesiastes 10:4) (NL...

Bad Company Corrupts Good Character!

Yes, there is a need to avoid Bad Company. 1 Corinthians 15: 33 says this " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.” (NIV). Do your friends corrupt your morals? Do you allow your friends to corrupt your morals?  It is important to choose wisely who you allow to influence you. We are humans and are easily corrupted by the company we keep. We need to prevent others bad influences from causing us to become a bad influence on ourselves and others.  Friends can either help us or harm us. Only You can choose the company you keep! God made the statement in His Word, the Bible, which proclaims " Do not be misled:  “Bad company corrupts good character.”  (NIV). This statement reminds us that we are a building board for Jesus and we must not Waiver and stumble off the path that God has set for us. Bad company can have a great influence on our walk with God. It can trick us into thinking that we can keep the wrong type of company and continue o...
