Good Friday. God's Amazing Love!

God's Amazing Love For Us!

Good Friday? What is this day truly and really about, what is good about it and why is it highly talked about?

Well, for many Christians Good Friday is celebrated as the day Jesus suffered and took all our sins to the cross and was crucified. Jesus willingly suffered for the sins of humanity, he was righteous and died for us who are unrighteous. This was God's plan!! Although Jesus suffered and was crucified, he rose on the third day to enter his glory, to be seated 22 "at God's right hand- with all the angels, authorities and powers in submission to him". (1 Peter 3: 22) (NIVUK). Good Friday followed by Easter, the celebration of the day Jesus was raised from the dead paving a way for those who believed and are united to him by Faith. 18 "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit". (1 Peter 3: 18)  (NIVUK).

The term Good Friday has been appropriately used to mark the completion of God's plan to save us from our Sins. Easter is truly a celebration of Jesus' resurrection, God raised Jesus from the dead. This shows that he broke the power of sin and death. We must first understand the suffering that Jesus had to go through to understand God's great and immense Love for us. God showed us that he loves us, he didn't tell us. The Bible says, "God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were sinners". (Romans 5: 8) (NLT). This verse is powerful becasue it is saying that even before we knew we needed God in our lives, while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us!
God made you to love you and we are alive because we were made to be loved by God! Jesus did not have to endure anything, Jesus understood that his suffering and pain was the only way our sins could be forgiven and restored to God, our heavenly Father.

The cross is where we see Jesus' suffering but received God's mercy and forgiveness. We received divine mercy, peace and forgiveness because Jesus rescued us willingly and took our punishment.  On Good Friday, Jesus endured the cross but this led to his resurrection, which is our salvation. God's wrath against sin was poured our on Jesus so that forgiveness and salvation could be poured out onto his people.God needs us to pick up our cross and follow him, what this means is to follow Jesus, his examples, and submit ourselves completely to God even when it is so so difficult. The bible says, 24 "He himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds, you have been healed.’" (1 Peter 2: 24) (NIVUK).

So, this is why Good Friday is so good and sad.

Jesus had to die because he alone, the Son of God, was able to pay for our sins. He came from heaven to earth, He was God in the flesh, and he came to save us! His death proved thatJesus was who He claimed to be, the Saviour! He went through six trials, but at the end of it nothing was found, nothing to convict Jesus on, The thing they did convict him of was being the Son of God, which he was. It is because of this trial that Jesus was to be crucified. Jesus' trial happened because he was the Son of God. He allowed this to happen so that All would know exactly who He was, and have no doubt about it. Jesus, of course, knew of the trial, He knew, He allowed it to happen. It happened because it was a part of God's plan.

The bible says, 47 "For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world." (John 12: 47) (NIVUK).

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for sending Christ Jesus, your Son, to earth, not to condemn it but to save it. Thank you, Jesus. Lord, I pray for courage, endurance and strength to follow you every single day, follow your word and examples that you have set for us. Thank you, God, for your mercy. Let us never forget the real meaning of Easter. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Season of Loss

How do you handle Loss? The Bible says, 8 " O my people, trust in him at all times.    Pour out your heart to him,  for God is our refuge". (Psalm 62: 8) (NLT).  As we face inevitable losses in life, we need to remember that we have the ability to pick up and put ourselves back together, and begin to get on with our lives once again. When we experience loss we may get these feelings: fear, depression, worry, guilt and anger. If these emotions are ignored, it may take longer to recover and move on from your grief. This is why it is healthy and okay to experience all these emotions, some people experience these emotions at once, others may be staggered. Everyone goes through them, in relation to Loss, no matter what they may say. People who deal with grief and pretend that everything is okay and that life can be lived as normal, will ultimately struggle with the stress of many emotions. This struggle can last for months or years and y ears to come. Jesus said, 4 "...

Conflict... Resolving conflict

How do you resolve conflict in your life? 15 " A gentle answer  turns away wrath,  but a harsh word stirs up anger."  (Proverbs 15:1) (NIV). Why is it that when someone gets angry we also get angry, when people raise or shout at us, we usually shout or raise our voice back at them. By mirroring their actions, you are allowing the situation to escalate ad get out of hand, soon it becomes too late. " When other people raise their voice, lower yours — in your marriage, in your parenting, in your friendships, and at work. That’s called strength under control." (Pastor Rick Warren). When you oppose to what someone has says, take a step back and reevaluate the situation for a brief moment, come back, and handle the situation in the best way. This could be done by simply walking away. This deescalates the anger. The Bible declares that, 4 " If your boss is angry at you, don’t quit!  A quiet spirit can overcome even great mistakes." ( Ecclesiastes 10:4) (NL...

Giving! How Do You Give? Is it in your heart to give willingly?

When giving to others; whether it is your money, time or things which have sentimental value to you, how do you give this to others?  How do you feel towards giving and how do you feel when you give willingly? Remember this: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:  ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  ” (Acts 20:35) (NIV). Is it in your heart to give willingly? God Gives! So we must be Givers . Psalms 32:21 says "... the righteous give generously". (NIV). When we give, our giving must stem from God's unfailing Love. The most well-known passage reads, For God so loved  the world that he gave  his one and only Son..." (John 3: 16) (NIV). God sent to earth his 'One and Only Son'! This passage holds such an importance about how God Gave! God is generous and He wants us to learn to be generous and Give, to be more like Him. Giving requires having F...
