Philippians 4: 6-7  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (NIV) At certain points in life, we ask ourselves, 'Why am I going through what I'm going through?' 'Why is it that I always find myself in this situation?' 'Why does every Bad thing happen to me?'. Many people have asked one of these questions at a certain point in their life. A lot of the time the one thing that they should have done in the beginning is their last resort. That is to Pray. BUT Prayer should never be the last resort to any situation. In fact, it should be your First go to, in any situation! How do you control your anger when you get angry? What makes you angry? (James 1:19-20) (NLT). When someone causes you to be angry it is God using them to shape your character just like sandpaper. Sandpaper is used to polish surfaces. God uses the people he brings into our lives to take off our rough edges and smooth us. Sometimes we just have to overlook the behaviour of those who make us angry, annoyed and frustrated and show them mercy instead of insulting them back or getting even. " You can make many plans,   but the  Lord ’s purpose will prevail."  (Proverbs 19: 21) (NLT)  You can make all the plans in the world. Plans that you think you will follow through all the way. But the thing is life isn't smooth sailing, your plans may not fall through because that is not what God's plan is for you personally! He has a plan for your life. If you come to a dead-end in your career, your studies, your work or even your relationship, it isn't because it has run its course, its because its our of your control and you truly cannot do anything about it. God is in control of these things. When you come across things that aren't in your control you must focus on what God is doing in that situation. It may be his message to you, telling you to leave it in his hands, because he is trying to increase your faith, to trust him with all you heart. Thinking of change or desiring to change will not generate change into your life. You have to choose to change.  It requires a choice. Ask yourself where do I see myself in 2, 3, 4 years time? Will I be better than I am a year from now? Am I going to be more mature, healthier, or happier? Am I going to be like God wants me to be? These will only happen if you choose to make that change. Do you want to change your situation, your life or are you content with the way things are? Why do we think that God is instantly going to change us, we must have faith in him? He is waiting on you, for you to say that 'Yes, I am willing to make changes in my life Lord'. You may have tried to deal with a problem or situation and have failed. Sometimes we think we are in control of our life, then things don't go to plan, one thing or the other happens and we can no longer handle the situation. Why do we let ourselves forget who is Truly in control? God knows this, he knows that we try to take on everything and control everything that comes from life but he knows that we are incapable and cannot do this. We cannot control every single aspect of our life without feeling overwhelmed and defeated.  This is where choice comes in.
