The Impact of Prayer... Why is it Important?

Philippians 4: 6-7  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". (NIV) At certain points in life, we ask ourselves, 'Why am I going through what I'm going through?' 'Why is it that I always find myself in this situation?' 'Why does every Bad thing happen to me?'. Many people have asked one of these questions at a certain point in their life. A lot of the time the one thing that they should have done in the beginning is their last resort. That is to Pray. BUT Prayer should never be the last resort to any situation. In fact, it should be your First go to, in any situation! Your first source of help is Prayer regardless of what you are going through: mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When you don't   resort to Prayer as yo...

Thank God! Grateful Prayers!

" Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus".                   ( Philippians 4:6-7) (NLT). Always thank God in advance and also in all circumstances, situations, and t rials; regardless of what you are going through. Why? Because God is a faithful and awesome  God. He urges you to 'Pray about everything and thank Him for all he has done'. When you thank God, be specific in what you are being thankful for. Why? Because God wants to hear from you. He wants to hear what you're thankful for and also what you are grateful for. He wants you to list the things you are thankful for, from things such as breathing, walking and talking, to depression, surgery, and food on the table.   Whatever you are gra...

Contentment... Are You Satisfied With What You Have or Do You Always Want More?

In life, we must be more  Grateful and Thankful than anything else. This is because everything that is given to us is a Gift and a Blessing from God. Every breath we take is a gift given from God and we would not be able to take our next breath if God didn't give it to us. Ecclesiastes (6: 9) states, " Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don’t have. Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless—like chasing the wind". (NLT) Do you compare what you have to what other's have? Why? What causes the feeling of envy? Do you find yourself competing with others and what they have? Why? For instance, do you say to yourself 'I want that handbag, it looks good on her. I want one for myself'. Or 'Why does she have a boyfriend/fiance/husband and I don't'. Or 'Why am I going through what I'm going through. Why can't I have a life like hers/his?'. Why did she get a better grade and we completed the assignment together?'. ...

Gratefulness... Gratitude... Being Thankful...

"I thank my God every time I remember you." (Philippians 1: 3) (NIV). When you are grateful and when you develop the habit of being grateful for those who you have in your life you will enjoy your relationships more and be much happier. You will notice that your relationships with family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances will be brightened when you develop gratefulness. To enjoy other people and be grateful for them, you have to focus on their strengths and what you like about them, for example, why you like being around a person? What distinguishes them from others? There's always good in every single person. You must put the unkind thoughts and those sorts of things aside that you may not like about them or maybe they've hurt you in the past and you've forgiven them but you're still holding a grudge. Do you feel like the longer you've known a person the less you feel grateful for them so the more you focus on faults and the less you focus on the g...
